General Steele – A Toast to Brooklyn (f/Buckshot, Jo Chris)

General Steele - Welcome to BucktownIt’s been about two weeks since I last posted on here. In that time I packed up and moved back to my hometown… beautiful Brooklyn! (I don’t have any internet access here, so I’m taking what I can get from the window.) I couldn’t have snagged a more appropriate new summertime track to throw up celebrating my return home. Some of you may remember I posted a Keelay & Zaire track a few months ago called “Addicts for Real” (cop their album!) Che Triumph flips the same Al Johnson loop on this one, but a bit more straight forward-like. You can hear Evil Dee’s influence in the beat filtering under the verses. He did the drums on this track. Buckshot and Steele bounce all over this upbeat and uptempo joint just like how they rip the live show. I caught them in Boston about two months ago and Steele was killing it in the three piece skinny suit. Enjoy the track (forgive the excessive singing from Jo Chris) from Steele’s new album…
