Freeway sounds more fired up when he is running the mic with someone else than solo. He brings a level of energy to his duets that most artists out right now can’t match. I’m not so sure his Month of Madness strategy (he released a song every day this past December) left us with too much quality, but we’ll leave that up in the air for future heads to decide. Speaking of Madness… Mr. Skillz dropped his latest album “The Million Dollar Backpack” last year. He has a bunch of pretty strong tracks on the album. Even the intro with Jazzy Jeff is pretty dope. Great horns from the Soulquarians on his duet with Black Thought. For me, this track with its beat by Orthodox stands out, circa Roc-a-Fella 2002…
